Hi my lovelies! How was your weekend?
Today is day 13 of the 33 Days Challenge and the theme is "Chinese". I tell you, I had a very hard time coming up with anything, and I really hoped one of my stamping plates had some chinese symbols, but I was not lucky! After much thinking I finally decided to go for a Dragon manicure!
This manicure was done only in my left hand, my right hand is only red nails. For achieving it I first painted two flawless coats of OPI Die another day, and waited for it to dry. Then using a dotting tool I tried for the first time the "fish-scales" technique, using the following colours: Zoya Edyta, Zoya Ziv, OPI Up front and personal, Max factor dazzling blue. Then using the Essence nail art pen, I designed the eye and part of the head of the dragon on my middle finger and a tail on my pinkie. I then filled the different parts using a Winstonia brush and Max Factor dazzling blue, Zoya Edyta, Essence be my sunshine and some black and white.
Believe it or not the most difficult part were the scales, because I really should have watched a tutorial first! It was so clear in my head, but not so much on the nail :/
Anyway, I think the final look is pretty Chinese, don't you? What would you have done for this theme? Don't forget to check out what the other ladies have done!
Love,
These are so cool! You've got guts for attempting a dragon haha! I never could have done that, great work! (:
ReplyDeleteThank you Marisa, I always thought that Lotus flowers were more Japanese, as well as Cherry and peach blossoms, all since Akira Kurosawa made me believe that, haha. So I didn't wanted to have something "oriental" in General, but particularly "Chinese". Thus I went with my crappy dragon :)
ReplyDeleteI love this dragon inspired mani...!
ReplyDeletewow me encanta tu manicura.Eres toda una artista.El color base es muy bonito.
ReplyDeleteOh Nati! How beautiful and cool!! I love them! I love the colors and the design!! Very very well done!!! Baci! xx
ReplyDeleteIt looks very Chinese, Nati, well done! And I believe you when you say that the scales were hard to do, I would SO not be able to do this :-)

ReplyDeleteWow, I think you did great here! I immediately saw that it was a dragon and I think the scales looked great! :D
ReplyDeleteGreat! Maybe it's better that you didn't find any stamping plates with Chinese signs, so you had to do some beautiful nail art! :-)
ReplyDeleteWow! This is just beautiful!!
