Hello, sweeties! How are you?
The nice weather is baaack!
So happy to have sunshine after 5 (...was it 6?) rainy days. I haven't posted anything since last Tuesday, as you may have noticed. I had so many random things to do and prepare because tomorrow is back to school for my child, and I didn't have the energy to blog. Everything is set and ready for the first day of school ! And now is time to share with you (two days late) my Nautical Nails for the Nail crazies Unite nail art challenge.

I thought to keep it as chic as a nautical manicure could be. So, I painted all nails using a beautiful navy blue Zoya Ryan, and two of my nail in white using Essence The gel nail polish. Once the polish was perfectly dry, I placed a few vinyl guides on my white nails to paint navy stripes on them. I just had to paint one coat, because the blue is very opaque. I removed the vinyl guides and applied a top coat WHICH RUINED EVERYTHING I I COULD START ALL OVER AGAIN!!!
The topcoat made my blue stripes bleed all over the place, it was disgraceful. So I had no choice, I removed and started again.

The second time I was wiser and waited until the blue was completely dry and used a different top coat, and it worked!! So do not get discouraged at your first try with a technique, sometimes it is just a question of timing or of the material you are using, it is worthy to try several times!
As a final touch, I stamped a boat wheel image from Moyou London Sailor Collection #2 stamping plate using a rose gold polish by Butter London ("Gosh").

What do you think of these nails? Do you like nautical manicures?
Don't forget to pay a visit to my challenge mates in the list below!!

Have a wonderful weekend,
Nati
