Burgundy Makeup Look with BH Cosmetics Zodiac palette

Is there anyone from Pisces in your life? One person of Pisces totally changed my life, for good. One person that taught me many things about myself, that pushed me to do things I didn't know I was capable of. One person that showed me I was so much stronger than anyone imagined, even myself. He's the one who believes the most in me, he supports me and he is proud of me like nobody else, not even myself. So, if I was going to take this Zodiac thing seriously (which of course I'm not) I would say -based on my experience- that Pisces people are great! Of course, I'm talking about my first child, my son.

Yesterday was a special day for me, my son turned 6!! And it was also my 6th anniversary as a mom. I can't believe 6 years have passed since I first held his chubby little face in my hands. I know, every mom has that feeling, at least once, that the time passes so cruelly fast and that our little ones grow up too soon. I'm not being original, I know. But I can't help it, looking at photos of my boy when he was a baby, now that he has become such a tall, sweet and smart little man.

Well, you might wonder what does Pisces have to do with anything. Well, if you've been following me lately, you know I'm trying to have more fun with the makeup I own (instead of buying new) and I challenged myself to create twelve different looks with the BHCosmetics Zodiac palette, one for each sign. Today is the turn to "Pisces" and here is my look, I hope you like it!

I want to state clearly that I don't really care for horoscope or Zodiac signs in general, and I don't know much about it, I just know that each sign roughly corresponds to a month of the year, and as there are twelve of them I thought it would be nice to make it a challenge to present you one new look each month. Pisces sign starts on February 18th through March 20th, that's about all I know ;)

In the palette, the colours that correspond to Pisces are matte deep burgundy and a foil baked shadow in a champagne or light rose gold. I decided to use both, but I also added other colours from the palette to make the look more wearable. I hope you like the makeup I came up with ♥

For this look I used:

After having taken the photos for this makeup look I was hesitating whether to actually publish them or re-do my makeup. I wasn't very happy because the burgundy colour (which I hoped that would look browner!!) looked so very RED on me!! I should've worked that colours more lightly, and I think it looks totally out of control...
I hesitated for a while, I asked a bit of opinion around me and finally decided to publish it all the same. YES I am aware it is very RED, and it is not that wearable, but after all, this is a makeup challenge, isn't it? So I challenged myself to use the colours "Pisces" and go out of my comfort zone. Which I did.

For this look I used the colours: Pisces matte (on the crease and along the lower lashline), Pisces shimmer (in the center of the mobile lid), Libra matte (in the outer corner and along the outer third of my lower lashline), the highlighter of the palette (in the inner corner of the eyes). I then added black liquid eyeliner and lots of mascara.
On the face, I used a bronzer from Givenchy, a mauve blusher by Milani and I skipped the highlighter. On the lips, I used a beautiful semi-matte burgundy lipstick from BH Cosmetics that I recently got and it was a total surprise! I really love it!

This look was a bit disappointing to me, as it did not result as I have planned. I like most of the look, except the choice of the burgundy shade on the crease, which I thought it looked much more like brown while I was applying it, but on the pictures is vivid wine red and when I open my eyes, that's all one can see. I guess it's making mistakes that we learn the most, isn't it? Well, we'll see if next month I'll do better with the colours for Aries!

If you are curious to see the looks I've created for each sign so far, please check them in the list down below:

I hope you've liked this look even though it isn't perfect and, please, don't hesitate to leave me a comment if you have a question or suggestion!

Love,
Nati
