Hello my lovelies!! how are you? I am super thrilled because this is my post number 500!!!
Can you even believe that? I have been rambling around here 500 times!! LOL
Well, today I have a special post for you, it is a makeup review of BH Cosmetics Missy Lynn palette with swatches, an EOTD and a Giveaway :)
You know by now I have a soft spot for BH cosmetics palettes, but this palette in particular has been escaping me ever since it was launched. In fact everytime I was about to order it, something happened that I could not get my hands on it. So I am glad to have it at last and couldn't wait to literally share it with you... yep, I got TWO of them and one is to share with my lovely readers!
But first let's check out this gorgeous palette!
Missy Lynn palette was designed as a collaboration between a Vlogger and BH Cosmetics and I find it combines the most amazing shades for a sultry look, so I consider this palette a treat for those special occasions.
I really like the packaging, which is made of solid cardboard with a flipping lid that closes with a magnet. In the outside it has a pretty design of chains over an purple-aubergine background, and in the inside it has a large mirror and Missy Lynn moto: "Start with confidence. Finish with success".
It contains 6 pressed eyeshades and 2 baked hihglighting shades, meant for both eyes and face:
The top row consists of three eyeshadows, a shimmery sheer champagne, a shimmery very intense bronze-brown, and a satin-y warm brown with a buildable pigmentation that is perfect as transition shade.
Middle row has a super pigmented copper, a less pigmented purple, but buildable, and an awesome dark aubergine. All three shades have a satin finish.
Bottom row consists of two baked shades meant as highlighters, but their pigmentation is sooo freaking fabulous they could also be worn as eyeshadows. The two pics above show the shades first swatched as usual, and them just a slight tiny bit of product blended a max. that is how I would used them on the face. These shades are both shimmery and warm toned.
Unlike the "Wild" palettes from BH Cosmetics I have shown you (see here, here and here), Missy Lynn palette eyeshades are not baked, so they shouldn't be used wet. The formula is very soft, and a bit powdery so there is a bit of fall out, which I haven't had with the baked formulas. So I highly recommend to do first your eyes and then your base. I appreciate that they are mostly satin finish (which you will see on the eyes they look "matte" but without the flat chalky look some matte shades can give) and that the brown and the purple are less pigmented, as both colours are my favourite to blend on the crease and outer corners of the eyes, so buildable pigmentation is a huge help for me as I can slowly build the colour without fearing putting "too much" from the beginning.
So this is the look I came up with:
Missy Lynn palette can be purchased at BH Cosmetics online shop and it retails for 18.99 USD but it is currently on sale! You can get one for 11.99 or two palettes for 19.99 USD!
OR... you can enter my giveaway and try your chance to win it!!
So let's get now to the giveaway!
Rules:
- The Giveaway is opened internationally from today (20th April 2015) until 30th April 2015 midnight (Swiss time)
- There will be one winner randomly drawn by rafflecopter.
- This is a show of appreciation to my followers, so to enter you must be a follower. This time my top ten commentators (see table on my sidebar) will get 10 extra entries just for participating! (I will input these entries manually, since I do not know how to do this automatically :P)
- You must use the Rafflecopter form below to be able to participate.
- All entries will be checked.
- I'll draw a winner a.s.a.p. and contact him/her by e-mail. If the winner doesn't respond in 48 hours I'll draw another winner.
- I will send the prize by Swiss Postal service. I can't be held responsible for any damage during delivery, nor for any customs fees or regulations in your country.
One last thing, it is not a proper rule but a warning, beginning of May is the due date for the birth of my baby (if you are new around here: I'm 38 weeks pregnant!), so it could be the case I could not draw the winner right away if my baby decides to born earlier!! LOL so, please be patient!
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!
Love,
Nati
