Hello, Lovelies!
I am super excited today because I am going to talk to you about an absolute marvel recently launched by BH Cosmetics. Let me introduce you to The amazing Zodiac palette!!

My thoughts on the palette

BH Cosmetics is no doubt one of my favourite brands because they offer great quality at a very budget-friendly price and a wide range of colours (they actually have all the crazy colours I am usually fond off). In fact, their range is quite large for such an affordable brand. They are also cruelty-free, which is always a good thing. This palette is not an exception.
The Zodiac Palette launched at the end of November and I literally jumped on it. As soon as I saw the pictures on the press release before the launch, I knew I had to have it. It contains baked shimmering eyeshadows and highly pigmented pressed matte shades, as well as a highlighter.

The packaging

The housing of the eyeshadows is square sturdy black cardboard with a lid. The cardboard palette is decorated with a holographic print that is simply a marvel to watch. Inside and outside the holo painting gleams and sparkles while you move the palette, soooo pretty. The palette comes with a paper protection sleeve that I plan on keeping!
The palette has a mirror, a quite decently large mirror, which gives more weight and of course more versatility in terms of where you can use the palette. Although, I wouldn't think of it as a friendly-travel palette because it is quite large. It contains 24 shadows and a highlighter, summing up 30g of product.
From all their limited edition products of this brand so far, Zodiac wins by far the best packaging in my book!

The colours

The 25 colours contained in this palette are perfectly distributed according to texture and colour family. There are 12 baked shimmery shades, which are the round ones you see. Each of them is named after a Zodiac sign! This is great because BH Cosmetics do not usually name their shadows, so this is VERY welcome! There are 12 highly pigmented matte shadows, which are the rectangular ones. Each of them also corresponds to a Zodiac sign. So for each sign, you have a shimmer and a matte shade. The only "unnamed" shade is the highlighter in the centre.

Now, talking about the quality of the shadows, when swatching them with my fingers they all are SUPER pigmented with a great pay off. While working with the brush on my eyelids (I haven't tested all the colours yet) I am impressed! The quality reminds me of old limited editions, all the mattes are outstanding, creamy upon application and the blend very easily. There is a bit of fall out, especially for the shimmery ones. But nothing terrible and definitely it can be easily cleaned up.

I LOVE how the palette is organized, I find it is perfectly coherent, like most palettes from BH Cosmetics that I have (which for me is one of the strong points of BH Cosmetics, to organize the colours in a functional way for the artist). The shimmer shades seem to be organized by colour family and the mattes seem to be organized by function, although there also grouped by colour similarity. It is an organization that speaks to me and as soon as I open the palette there are many ideas of colours combinations that come to my mind. The possibilities are endless!

The swatches

All the swatches are finger swatches over clean skin. No primer, just one swipe of colour. You will notice that there is not even one dude! I took pictures with indirect natural light and direct sunlight, so you can see the finish better, especially for the sparkling shadows. Below the photos, you can read the names of the shades from left to right. Remember that for each name (for each Zodiac sign) there is a shimmery colour and a matte one, as well.

From Left to right: Aries, Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn, Sagittarius, Scorpio

Who will like this palette

I would recommend the BH Zodiac palette to every makeup lover who would appreciate a pop of sparkly colour, but that likes also neutral mattes. It is a very complete palette that will take you from day to night to WOW. If you don't own a colourfull palette yet, and you'd like to experiment more with colours I'd say you need to pick this one. It is budget friendly, so you don't need to break the bank to get it. Besides, it covers a wide range of undertones so it will suit many different skin tones.

I know I will enjoy this palette a lot! I have already set a challenge to myself, each month I'll be creating a look for each sign of the Zodiac using the corresponding colours in the palette, starting right now! See below my "Sagittarius Look"

Eyes/Yeux:

How to

For this look, I used only the shades in the Zodiac palette. First I created a transition gradient in the crease using two matte shades Aquarius and Sagittarius. Then, in the centre of the mobile lid, I applied a beautiful shimmery medium green in Sagittarius. I added a bit of matte Libra shade to my outer corner for definition and a bit of shimmery Aquarius to my inner corner for luminosity. In my lower lashline, I used a matte Sagittarius and Libra

To make it more festive, I drew a very thin liner line on my upper lashline using a gold eyeliner by H&M and added lots of mascara. On the face, I applied a blusher by Milani, a bronzer by Givenchy and the highlighter included in the Zodiac palette. On the lips, I used a matte lipstick by Wetnwild.

The BH Cosmetics Zodiac palette is available here and it retails for USD 21.99

What do you think of this look? Have you heard of this palette before? Is this something that could interest you? Let me know in the comments!

Nati
