Hello, lovelies!
Today the Nail Crazies Unite challenged us to create a "Modern Art"  manicure! This was a huge challenge for me. I am a huge fan of Modern Art in general, especially Abstract art and my favourite artist Wassily Kandinsky, which oeuvre is so vast! I honestly felt it was totally not-doable to reproduce or "copy" one Kandinsky paintings on my nails. So I was already feeling this was going to be a total fail when I remembered that I owned a MoYou London Stamping Plate about Modern Art! So here is what I came up with.

Creating this manicure wasn't difficult, but it took a little more time and patience than usual. I painted my base colour using white (OPI Suzi chases Portu-geese) and then started creating my stamping decals. I choose three images from the MoYou London Artis Collection #03, all the three of them were inspired by Kandinsky paintings. The "stamping decals" technique, basically consists in stamping on a flat surface a designs and fill in the design with different colours using brushes or dotting tools. You can find a tutorial here, where I show how it's done. To fill in my decals I first thought of using primary colours, to make it have more impact, but then I chaged my mind I decided to use turquoise (instead of blue), red and yellow. Once my decals were dry I carefully applied them on my nails and that was it!

Here is the material I used: MoYou London polish "Turquoise mint"(turquoise), "Femme Fatale"(red),"Bahamas punch"(yellow), Stamping plate Artist Collection 03.

I really like how this manicure came out! It is very fun to have different patterns in every nail and I can really get the "ModernArt" vibe in them. What do you think? Would you wear such an elaborated nail art?

Don't forget to pay a visit to my challenge mates for more "Modern Art" nail art! You can find their creations on the Facebook group "Nail Crazies Unite"

Have a lovely Weekend!

Love,
Nati
