Hello my darlings, how are you doing?
I thought to rest for one day of the nail art avalanche in my blog with all these challenges and reviews going on, I would love to share with you an Eye look I've done recently using one really pretty cream eyeshadow I bought from Marionnaud, which is in #03 Mysterious taupe. (Wonder why everything is so mysterious this Fall, lol!). I was very pleased to see they have a new makeup up range under their own brand and while the choice is not huge, they do have some nice stuff. Which is also nice is the price tag! lol. They're very affordable (for Swiss standard) I paid 14.90 CHF for this cream eyeshadow (about 15 USD). Let's take a closer look:

This product is comparable to Maybelline colour tattoos, except I find it a little easier to blend because it does not dry as fast as colour tattoos, so it gives you more time to blend colours in. It seems to contain less product than colour tattos (those do not state how much they have! naughty naughty) Marionnaud's silky eye shadows contain 2.5g. I also like that the Marionnaud's pot has a protection film sealing the product, that protects it from drying fast. Cream eyeshadows tend to dry, so that's a good thing.
The shade I picked is a taupe slightly leaning to mauve with iridescent and silver shimmer, it has a lovely velvety finish without being matte of course.
So, here is the look I've made, a quite classic smoky eye using the cream shadow as a base and playing shades and lights with some powder shadows on top. But I haven't added much colour to my lower lash line, nor I have extended the colour towards the outer corners of the eyes, so I guess that makes it pretty wearable for daytime too!
And here is what I've used,
For the eyes:

oh, i didn't know that marionnaud makes cream eyeshadows! such a nice shade, have to check it out too.
ReplyDeleteand btw. you have really pretty eyes, i love the green color!
Hi Mora! Thank you for your kind comment. You definitely should check them out, there aren't a lot of colours but they're mostly everyday basics :)
DeleteSalut Nati, you look so beautiful!!! This eyeshadow looks awesome!! I wasn't aware that Marinnaud now has its own make-up range and splurged on the Chanel mauve cream eyeshadow :-P!!! I love to wear it much like you did, complementing the look withmy Rich Chocolate Palette from Bobbie Brown - see, I am with you now, doing make-up every day :-) - Bisous ma belle xxx
ReplyDeleteSalut ma biche, your so sweet, I bet you're gorgeous with your sultry chocolate eyes!
DeleteLet me tell you, while this one is a good eyeshadow, Chanel one has easier application because the formula is smoother and also have more sparkle because the shimmer is finer. No doubt a good investment. But for everyday wear Marionnaud is great too, as Maybelline colour tatoo, for instance. You know I always find a good excuse to splurge on Chanel myself, Chanel is Chanel !!
Bisous, xxx
This new Marionnaud creme eyeshadow looks interesting. Did you have any problems with creasing? I love to use creme eyeshadows as a colored base, usually the Maybelline Color Tattoos.
ReplyDeletehi Aglaya, Thank you for asking! I'll update that, I guess it's a pretty important info I missed, lol!
DeleteNo creasing at all! I think they're totally comparable to Maybelline Colour Tattoos, except I find Marionnaud easier to work with because it doesn't dry so fast so you have plenty of time to blend it with other colours. But the colour range of Colour tattoos is larger. There aren't bold colours at Marionnaud's!
Ese color te luce bien, es muy bonito
ReplyDeletewell done :))
