Hello Lovelies!! how are you today? August is already gone, and it's time to show you the products that are gone too! This is a "special summer edition" where you'll find my usual products, plus sun protection, extra shampoo and self tan. Hope you'll find it useful!
Body care
- Neutrogena Body Balm : with Nordic Berry Reparing care. For dry and very dry skin. Great product for my type of skin, I love that it comes in a jar so you can use until the very last drop. I give it an 8/10 and will totally repurchase
- The Body Shop Chocomania Body butter: 48h feel good hydration. This one was too oily for my skin. I mean, it was excellent mosturizeng, but left my skin with a kind of greasy feeling that I hated. I wasn’t fan of the scent either. I give it a 6/10 and will certainly not repurchase.
- St. Tropez Gradual Tan Plus Firming 4 in 1: Tan, Tone, Firm & Mosturize. This thing WORKS! It was such a surprise and a pleasant one. I totally loved it and repurchased it as soon as I saw it was finishing. I totally recommended and give it a 9/10 (just because it is a little pricey, but otherwise it’s perfect).
- Lush Sultana of Soap: Soap for hands and body . I’ve used this soap only for hands, and was not totally pleased. I don’t like the fact that it has real raisins in it that fall as you use it. The smell is nice but nothing to go wild for. I give it a 6/10 because it did cleanse my hands fine, but I’ll not repurchase it.
- Avène Very high protection Lotion 50+SPF: Very water resistant (2 tubes!!). Broad UVB and UVA protection. Excellent protection! I would not change this for the world, and I have a very VERY sensitive skin, and every summer I get Solar erythema which is a pain in the rear. I was so afraid of ruining my vacation with my baby first time for him at the beach and just imagine me having to stay indoors! So I tried this for a month before vacation, having short lexposition to sun almost daily (10 minutes) to get my skin prep. And it was great! It's thin, sinks quickly does not leave the skin feeling sticky or greasy despite the high protection, it has not smell at all! Plus: I got a tan, and did not suffer from allergy or erythema at all! I give this a 10 and will repurchase it next summer.
Face Care
- Chanel Gel pureté: Rinse-off foaming gel cleanser. Purity + anti-pollution. I love this stuff, and the only reason I give it a 9/10 is because it’s pricey and I can’t allways allow myself to get it. Otherwise a great cleanser.
- Chanel Démaquillant yeux intense: Gentle biphase eye makeup remover. It’s my favourite eye makeup remover, it’s powerful and so gentle with my sensitive eyes. But again, pricey. So This gets a 9 for that reason. I’ll repurchase it as soon as I’ll be able to afford it.
- Chanel Lotion Confort Silky soothening toner: Comfort + anti-pollution. Alcohool free. This Toner, together with the two products mentioned before ar my Fantastic Cleanser Trio! I love all three combined. Purchasing all of them at once gives a serious kick on my wallet’s butt. So I don’t do it so often, I’d say twice per year. But when I do my skin looks at it’s best! This gets 9/10
- Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline Eau de toilette 40ml OOOH! I just love this fragrance and whenever I use it I say it smells like summer! There’s nothing like it and I’ll repurchase it next summer no matter what. It takes a 10/10 jut because I can’t give it 11.
Hair Care
- Rausch Wheat germ nourishing rinse conditioner: Repairs dry and brittle hair, giving smothness and shine. This is my go to conditioner. When I go on holidays I know I can’t be wrong, whatever the weather conditions or the quality of the water, my hair does just fine with this. It’s not the ultimate elixir, but a trustworthy companion that never let me down. It gets an 8/10 and I repurchase it quite frequently.
- Kérastase Elixir Ultime Oléo complexe . I’ve almost cried when the bottle finished. This products works wonders on my hair. It lasted me almost 2 years, because when I got to the half I started using it only for weekends and going out, and not everyday. This is just so out of my budget, it costs 50CHF and I would love to repurchase it when my finances will allow me to. If you ever see a great opportunity PLEASE let me know. It gets a 10, yep, despite its price.
- Rausch Shampooing volumateur à la Mauve: Extra-mild, gives volume and radiance, also for children. Another loyal and trustworthy product! I took this on vacation because I wash my hair everyday on holidays, usually I love to swim in the sea everyday, so a hair wash is necessary, and I have to use a mild shampoo that cleanses gently giving volume at the same time. This is my option for a decent price. It gets a 7/10 because it’s not a holly grail but it does what it must.
- Aveda Pure abundance : Volumizing shampoo. Two bottles of shampoo in two months that shows I washed my hair a lot! I do in Summer. But with this one I really shouldn’t wash everyday, because it’s a deep cleanser, and I found it dries the scalp a little. Although, my thin hair keeps looking clean after 2 days and it gives WOW kind of volume, and I love it for that. But I imagine it will end up drying my roots after using it a lot, so I’ll not repurchase this one right away. I give it a 7/10
Makeup
- YSL Teint Resist: N° 6 oil-free SPF 10. This is a great foundation for summer, and it suits my skin type, because it has a mattifying formula and it’s very long lasting despite hot weather. I had this bottle opened for more than 18 months and it was time for it to get retired. It was almost finished though. I’ll repurchase it when I’ll restart working because it’s one you can trust to last all day, and beyond. Gets a 9/10.
- Essence Nail art nail polish remover ultra acetone-free. You already know I love it. I always gets a 9/10 because it’s so hard to find.
- Gemey / Maybelline Dissolvant douceur: with Avocado extract without acetone. Used up 2 bottles, that speaks for itself. I give it a 7/10 because I hate the smell , but it works!
- The Body Shop Cranberry joy Hand cream: Hand mosturizing with cranberry seed oil and community fair trade cocoa butter. I literally forced myself into finishing this tube. I don’t like the scent at all. I much preferred the Vanilla one, which is now lost somewhere in my closet (maybe inside a winter handbag? Or in a jacket pocket? Who knows?) I’ll tell you if I ever find it :)
So this was a long list! A total of 17 full size products in 2 months.
I hope the descriptions of what I used could help you in any way, if you were thinking to purchase or wondering about a product. Please, don't be shy and leave a comment if you'd like to add something or to disagree with me!

DeletePues es algo delicada me puedo poner como un camaron.
DeleteSalut ma belle, another very helpful and great post - these are among my favorite posts!!! I have never tried the Chanel eye make-up remover - hmmmmm will let you know when I bought it ;-)!!! You also made the foundation sound very tempting :-) have a lovely Sunday - Bisous xxx
ReplyDeleteSalut ma biche! Thank you for your nice comment, it's my pleasure if this was helpful in anyway! bisous, xxx
DeleteSomeone did their best this summer! :-) I have been using the same sunscreen from Avene this summer, and I really liked it as well. I did not like the chocolate-scented body butter from TBS though. It's strange, I am a total chocoholic but I can't stand the smell of chocolate in beauty products.
ReplyDeleteOh! we have some taste in common, that's great! :D
DeleteI had the chocolate butter from the Body Shop too and I didn't like it either - way too greasy and the smell started being annoying after the second application ;) I had to force myself to finish the little 50g pot :)
ReplyDeleteHi Olga, thank you for your comment. I agree with you on the body butter :)
DeleteThe Nail Art Remover is hard to find in B.? Manor has afaik the big counter, is it sold out all the time? I have no problems getting it, I always buy two or three bottles, I simply love this remover, too :-)
ReplyDeletehi Aglaya! Yes, it's hard to find like you wouldn't believe. You're right, Manor but also Müller have the big Essence displays but even like this, Every time I go there are no nail art remover, but yes, there is a DIFFERENT remover at its place, which contains acetone, and I go to ask, and they always treat me like a freak : but here it is 3 in one remover (are u blind)! And I go like "nope is not that one". And they go " remover is remover, this works just fine". Argghhh!!! I end up buying the maybelline everytime. It's frustrating.
DeleteI'm not 100% sure, but I think the 3in1 Remover is discontinued now, so at least you won't have THAT problem anymore. And we nail junkies know that remover isn't at all just remover, there are products that just don't work the way we need them to...
