Hello lovelies! How are you today?
Today I bring you the 11th Battle of this challenge and it is Glitter vs. Bar Glitter. I haven't done any nail art today, I thought I would get the easy way and wear a gorgeous polish from China Glaze Worlds Away collection: Get carried away. This polish combines small round glitter, hexagonal silver and red glitter, and black matte bar glitter on a jelly black base. I don't own any bar glitter polish on its own, because I'm not very fond of bar glitter.
This polish had a very tricky application, so I needed 3 coats to get it even. But doing so, the bar glitter turned invisible!!
The glitter got everywhere, and it was impossible to do a neat cuticle line, but the very disaster arrived at the moment of removal. So, it wasn't in the end an easy way for me but a real *challenge*!!
Well, I'd appreciate to know your opinion if you got this polish, because I've seen great swatches out there and would like to know if it's just me or the polish.

Please, don't forget to check what the other participants have done to their nails to represent this battle!

ReplyDeleteHi Melissa, thanks for commenting! Are you already in Switzerland? If so, be welcomed!!!
DeleteI'm not that found of this polish..It looks fab in the bottle per ce I think, but outside it looks more messy, HOWEVER I think that your swatch above is the most beautiful swatch of this polish I've ever seen so maybe there's hope for it? I layered it over white and it looked like crap..I'll try it like this.
ReplyDeleteI've learned that if a polish has a hard removal you can use SV as base coat and then the glitter will be more easily removed, more peelable. I've tried it with some of my floams and it worked almost at least, I peeled of a lot of polish before removing the last with remover. A tip in the future. ;)
Hi Gelic, thanks for your comment and for the useful tip! I should try it.

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that I FINALLY have done the Liebster Award you gave me! :) Awesome! <3
DeleteHello my dear Nati, first things first: this looks beautiful on you!!! And then I am not a fan of bar glitter either - reminds me of shredded paper. I have read about the tricky application - maybe wearing one coat of black and then dabbing on the glitter helps??? I remove glitter as follows: soak cotton pad with normal polish remover, place them on nails, wrap alu foil around it and pack it tightly, wait 10 minutes, pull the "hats" off - done!!! I hardly have any glitter left on my nails like this.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Especially the red, black, and white combo!
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely NOT you Nati!! I've read lots of post where bloggers complain about the tricky application for this polish! I think they've done a bad job on the formula on this one unfortunately...
ReplyDeleteI got your mail today by the way and I was so happy to receive it! :D
You made some excellent suggestions!
I'll reply as soon as I can but I'm working really long days Fri and Sat...
But speak to you soon cara!
Baci!
