Hello my darlings! How are you doing? Today is a very, very special day since it is my baby boy's first birthday!!! I'm very happy because it is also my first "birthday" as a mum. This year has been full of novelties, learning, happiness and satisfaction! I'm very grateful for what I'm living and would like to share my happiness with you.

Today's mani for the challenge has been long anticipated, and scheduled in advance. So it is not what I'm wearing right now. I've known for a long time that this 17th challenge was on my baby's birthday, so I'm dedicating this mani to him. I have chosen a book as inspiration: The little prince. It's a very old book for children that nobody reads anymore (thought they should) and the story is absolutely marvellous. This is by far my favourite book. It was not my favourite book as a child, but as an adult. For those who don't know what the story is about, I can only recommend ot READ IT! You'll never regret doing it. You might be familiar with some of the most famous quotes of this book:
"All grown-ups were once children... but only few of them remember it.”[...]

“I shall look at you out of the corner of my eye, and you will say nothing. Words are the source of misunderstandings." [...]

“Men have no more time to understand anything. They buy things all ready made at the shops. But there is no shop anywhere where one can buy friendship, and so men have no friends any more.[...]

“People have forgotten this truth," the fox said. "But you mustn’t forget it. You become responsible forever for what you’ve tamed."[...]

“It is only with the heart that one can see rightly. What is essential is invisible to the eye.”

My mother gave me this book many years ago (though I already knew the story by then), it's an edition in Spanish and French (the original book is in French). I know she was secretly thinking she has given me much more than a book. I'll pass this message through to my baby, even though I know that he has to grow up a lot to even understand what is written in this book.

Ok, now you're here to see nail art, aren't you? For this design I used:
  • A very thin liner brush
  • different dotting tools
  • a makeup sponge
  • Essie Midnight Cami (darkblue)
  • Zoya Veruschka (matte green)
  • Zoya Harlow (matte berry)
  • Zoza Jacqueline (vanilla)
  • Zoya Ziv (gold)
  • NYX INK Nail art liners in White, Black & Silver
  • Maybelline Winner takes it all! (gold)

I first painted two coats of Essie Midnight cami on all my fingers
I painted a dot of Zoya Jacqueline to represent the head, that would be my point of reference. Then painted the body and legs with NYX white. I draw the coat with the thin brush using Zoya Veruschka & Harlow. Then added all the details with dotting tools: Hair and belt with the Maybelline gold, hands with Zoya Jacqueline, boots & eyes with Nyx black, sword & collar with NYX silver. I sponged a tiny drop of Zoya Ziv on all nails.
I was surprise by how quick I was to paint this. It took me around 10 minutes, and no, I didn't reproduce it on my right hand :P

So looking forward to your comments!
Love,
Nati
