Hello my dears! How was your weekend? here we have not had a great weather lately, seriously, Spring where are you? It looks a lot more like Fall, is grey, rainy, and chilly. Well, I guess my desire for spring shows in my nails today! What I'd like to share with you today is a Spring-y gradient I did with the addition of a cute 3D nail decoration sent to me by KKCenterHK.

For this mani I used the Mavala polish in  154 Aquamarine, which is a gorgeous mint green with the slightest hint of shimmer à la Chanel. I bought this shade in first placed because it is supposed to be a dupe for the now mythical Chanel Jade, which is my biggest impossible lemming. Three words on the Aquamarine formula: What the hell!!?? It is thin and gloopy, at the same time. Don't you think it's possible, hein? Well, I didn't. But this polish is here to prove me wrong.
I ended up doing three coats of Aquamarine, which took all the patience I could have. But the colour is so lovely! It is worth the hassle.

I then sponged on a gradient using Aquamarine and Chanel Mimosa, a beautiful shimmery yellow, this one with a perfect formulation, but then you don't need that just for sponging, do you?. I sponged twice on each nail, and there were still some bold spots, but I wanted to keep it thin and light, so didn't add any more coats.

To top it all I added a coat of Seche vite and glued a butterfly shaped decoration on each ring finger nail. The butterfly is made on some kind of plastic or resin, and it is very sturdy. I ike that the edges of the decoration are rounded, and not sharp. I strongly recommend using nail glue to hold it, because of the size regular topcoat will not suffice.
The butterflies (BLUESEA-FB02B) are sold in two pieces packages and retail for 4.00 USD

They seem kind of pricey, but the good news is these are reusable. You have to be very gentle when removing your polish not to damage the butterfly design. I did my nails on Wednesday and took them off yesterday, so they lasted on my nails through normal life, shower, sleeping for three days without problems. Hair washing was a bit challenging though :)

I really love how this mani came out! So that explains the stupidly exagerated amount of pictures! I like this kind of decorations, maybe not for everyday but for a special occasion I think they're perfect! What do you think about this mani? Would you rock this 3D decorations on your nails?
