Hello Sweeties! Happy Saturday!!
It is a beautiful (and very cold) snowy morning here, what is it like where you live? I'm very happy today because it is my birthday and hubby will be taking us to my favourite place for dinner in the whole world. I'm sooooo excited I can hardly wait for dinner! I was also trying to put together a little surprise for you, but couldn't manage to make it in time, so that will be up tomorrow! Stay tuned, I know you will like it!!
This week the "26 Great Nail Art Ideas" Challenge prompt us to do a "insects or bugs" nail art. In total honestly, besides some ladybugs or cute little bees, I don't like the idea of insects on my nails. And both those ideas seemed so Spring-like, I thought I would go with a more "Abstract" kind of design and I opted for "dark butterfly wings".

My design was rather simple. I started painting all my nails with black nail polish, in this case I used Zoya Willa. Once it was almost dry, but not completely, I dabbed some duochrome flakes from Beautybigbang store on three of my nails, and sealed the flakes with a clear topcoat. Once dried, I stamped some butterfly wings patterns from the stamping plate Moyou London Pro Collection #05 XL and the BornPrettyStore Black stamping polish. I sealed the desing with clear topcoat and that was it!

I am aware that the butterfly wings designs are not the most obvious on the nails, that's quite a disappointment for me, and I think I would have had by far a better effect if I free handed the design instead of stamping it. Well, you live, you learn.

Definitely not my best manicure out there, but it is sparkly... can't always win ;)
