There’s nothing quite like that spring bloom to make us feel fresh, light, and happy. The cheery feeling in the air inspires us to look at the world with new eyes and gives us the energy to get up and make a change. From tidying up our apartment to getting new motivation to succeed at work, why not use this burst of blooming creativity and willpower to care for ourselves a little and embrace some simple changes. Summer is just around the corner, and this season is the perfect time to prepare for it and give our body a head-to-toe makeover to make sure we look and feel spectacular. Ready for some tips? Then read on!

Healthy diet for a healthy body

It wouldn’t do well to start off your spring feeling bloated and achy, not to mention having unwanted extra pounds that might have gathered over the winter. We don’t recommend going on any strict diets (because we think that approach rarely works), but cutting down on processed sugar and junk food can take you very far. Seeing as how spring is the season of fresh fruits and veggies, you can find excellent organic produce at every market and start preparing your own healthy meals. To make it work without having to cook every single day, start planning and preparing food in advance. Your body needs some healthy nourishment after a whole winter of indulgence, so feed it quality food and you’ll feel a lot better.

Full body exfoliation

What better way to feel refreshed than with the help of exfoliation? We can scrub away all that dirt, sebum, and the buildup of dead skin cells, and let the radiance show through again. To start it off, use a big brush with firm bristles to exfoliate your body before you take a shower. This is called dry brushing, and it’s very good way to care for your body. After you have showered and put some nourishing lotion on your skin, you can exfoliate your face next. Take a good sugar scrub, then rub in circular motions, and then wash it all away with your cleanser. Then tone your face, and apply a sheet mask to make it glow.

Pampering treatments

Spring is the perfect time to treat yourself and let professionals care for you. Book an appointment with your hair stylist to give you a nice trim (or a brand new cut!), and go to a skin clinic to enjoy a facial rejuvenating facial treatment like microdermabrasion. This could be a good time for useful procedures such as laser hair removal, because it will save you a lot of time in the long run and make summer so much easier. You could also try nice minor procedures such as temporary lip fillers, which plump up your lips in a very sweet, subtle way because the doctors only use chemicals such as hyaluronic acid (which can naturally be found in our bodies). Another thing to consider right now would be microblading in case you have thin, sparse brows and want them to look good while you’re lounging by the pool, no makeup on.

Relax with a massage

Mmm, massages are a really splendid way to relax. All that pent-up tension and stress take their toll on our body and mind, but drifting off while a masseuse loosens those knots from your muscles is going to make you feel so much better. And hey, if you’ve got good hands you could also organize a massage for your partner at home. Light some incense, grab a good massage oil, and have them lie down so you could knead their back. Use this moment to bond with them because there’s nothing more therapeutic than doing something nice for someone you love.

Exercise, exercise, exercise!

Our body craves exercise. We might get it used to being passive and sitting around all day, but absolutely every organ in our body, from our skin to our heart, benefits from working out. It’s essential for health, and it simply feels really, really good once you get past that initial stage of going from a couch potato to someone active. Our favorite way to exercise in spring are bike rides and outdoor yoga, so try doing that once or twice a week and supplementing it with 30-minute at-home workouts on rest of the days. Pick a good workout, and if you like, keep your bathing suit on a hanger in your bedroom to motivate you to get fit for summer.

Treat your body well, and it will treat you well by giving you energy and motivation. Remember that every nice thing you do for it will be repaid in the long run. Enjoy this spring and start indulging in some self-care!
