Hello, lovelies! Happy Monday!

How was your weekend? Have you shopped during "Black Friday"? I have made a couple of great deals, but honestly, I have shopped very wisely and have not bought anything impulsively. Which is so unlike me! I used to be the kind of person to fall for an offer just because "it was an incredible price" but I no longer fall in that kind of trick. I had a list of stuff that my family and I were needing for a while, but we have been putting off the purchases to buy them with discounts. I did not buy anything that wasn't on my original list, I am so proud! Especially because this year I've been bombarded with Black Friday, Cyber Weekend, CyberMonday offers like never before! I mucst have got around 200 emails, without counting the ads on social media, regular media, in the street, it was real marketing madness!! I must say I got just a little bit disgusted by it all.

Seeing the overwhelming amount of imperatives to buy new stuff,  I felt the urge to show some love to my old makeup pieces. So it's time to share with you a new edition of my "shopping my stash" challenge. I've been using my very old and beloved Chanel "Ombres Perlées de Chanel", a quint with the most intriguing pearlescent shades for sexy, yet elegant eye looks. I hope you like it.

I decided to write a series of posts here on the blog that would allow me to commit to "Shopping my stash", which means going through products I own instead of buying new ones. I have decided that each month I would pick an eyeshadow quad or quint from my collection and use it during the whole month. The month of Nnovember I've been playing with my old quint "Ombres Perlées de Chanel" and today I share with you one of the looks I came up with.

Ombres Perlées de Chanel

Unlike most of the other eyeshadow palettes from Chanel, the Ombres Perlées de Chanel does not have a name in English or a number. This Quint was launched as a very limited Edition in Spring 2011. It was a very coveted palette, because of its uniqueness! The shadows are powder, but with a very special creamy texture, that was very new back then. Also, the finish of the shades is extra shimmery, without it being metallic or glittery. I'd describe it as pearlescent, although the word is used for sheer colour, and these are quite opaque. It definitely is special and unique, both the reasons why I still keep this palette (I promise it is the only makeup I have from 2011!!)

This palette is not your everyday makeup item. Whatever you do with it, will take your look to a high level of sophistication. I promise you I try har to come up with a look that would be cool on any given day at the office, but I couldn't! Definitely a collector's piece!

To create a more wearable look with a shimmery dark eyeshadow palette like this, I suggest to pair it with a sheer lipstick or a lip oil as the one I'm wearing on the look below. Also, keep your complexion luminous and simple. use a very light bronzer (or none), a modest blush that will compliment your complexion without being too evident and very discreet highlighter (or none). This will make this look less sophisticated and more youthful looking!

As usual, I am not trying to encourage you to buy anything with this post, more trying to INSPIRE you to use more what you already have and buy less

During November, I have used this Quint several times, but not everyday. It is very sophisticated and I don't always have time to create amazing eyeshadow looks. But it is definitely one very unique item in my collection that I keep holding onto!
Are you also a collector? Is there any very unique or special item that you keep despite the passing years, just to admire it?

Don't hesitate to leave me a comment!

Love,
Nati
