Hello, sweeties!

How has your weekend been so far? We are having a little rain and dull clouds today, that will probably stick around for a few more days. So I thought the idea of using a vibrant colour like "Chartreuse" would be ideal to brighten up our days!
It is time for a new edition of "When Colors Collide" nail art challenge,  the colours proposed this week are "Chartreuse and brown" so this is what I came up with. I hope you like it!

The difficult part of this challenge would be choosing the right colours! The shade "Chartreuse" is a light green with a strong yellow undertone that reminds of the French Liquor of the same name. This is not a very common or popular colour for nail lacquer!! LOL But my collection is pretty large (ok, ridiculously and totally unjustifiedly large) and I found a pretty "chartreuse" nail polish with a "crelly" finish. The bad thing is my camera (or my phone) would refuse to capture the real colour of this polish and it shows yellow on all my pictures! I swear in real life it is definitely green!

Here are the steps I followed:
1) I first painted one of my nails with a gorgeous textured brown polish. This would be my accent nail.
2) I then painted two nails with chartreuse polish and two other nails with a brown cream polish, this would be my base.
3) Once my base dried completely, I stamped some vines images with brown polish on top of the chartreuse colour. On the other nails I did some tiny dots using chartreuse.
4) Once everything was dry, I sealed my design with clear topcoat and tadaaa!

These are the products and Items I used:
  • Essence Guerrilla Gardening nail polish #02 "Plat the Planet" (chartreuse green)
  • OPI nail polish "That's what friends are Thor" (brown colour. Iceland collection)
  • OPI Liquid Sand (textured) polish "Wha Wizardry is this" (textured brown. The Wizard of Oz collection)
  • Born Pretty Store Stamping plate #BPL 024
  • Beauty BigBang Dotting tools
  • Top Coat Seche Vite

I hope you like my "Chartreuse and brown" manicure! If you'd like to see more manicures in these colours, please check the Facebook group of the challenge! :)

Have a lovely weekend!

Love,
Nati
