Hello, sweeties!
It's been a long time since I posted here, I've been investing my time in some personal matters, I promise you to update you soon on that! Today, I have some really exciting news to share with you! I've been testing a new vegan and toxin-free nail polish brand: Maggie Anne. The brand carries some really outstanding colours and I wanted to give you my own impressions about it.
Keep reading to find out all about the brand, the quality of the nail polishes and to see the pretty colours worn on the nails!
Being concerned about the ingredients in our cosmetics in general and in the nail polish you wear in particular it's definitely a smart move. We are aware there is a bunch of ingredients which are allowed in the cosmetics industry but that have been proven to be bad for your health, but don't worry the brand Maggie Anne got you covered!
The brand
Maggie Anne Nail Polishes are toxin-free gel effect nail polishes are ultra glossy, high shine, with a sensational gel-like finish. NO UV lamp or soaking in toxic smelly acetone needed.
All Maggie Anne gel effect polishes are not only made without the 3 common chemicals found in nail polishes (Tulene,Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde) but also without 3 other very dangerous chemicals (Formaldehyde Resin ,Camphor and THTP).
We don't test on animals and it's vegan-friendly. Peta cruelty-free and Beauty Without Bunnie's license approved.
But it gets even better, the gel formula means you can achieve a flawless manicure at home. No more unsightly brush streaks ever again. And its simple to apply with our new easy apply brush. Once you use this brush you will fall in love with it forever.
Maggie Anne Nail Polish is the perfect polish for pregnant ladies as it contains no nasty chemicals. A perfect congratulations gift for mothers to be! It is also safe for anyone with known allergies or patients undergoing any treatments for cancer.
The gel effect polish will last 5-7 days with two coats of color and a special gel topcoat. Make sure to brush slightly under the tip of the nail to prevent premature tip wear. With our brush style this is easily applied with a finishing stroke.
I have been sent six beautiful colours to test and I'm definitely more than impressed! Not only the colours are super vibrant and original, not at all "boring" as other vegan nail polishes out there, but also they are super easy to apply and they wear for sooooo long!
Application and wear time
You know I am a nail polish freak, I've tested an insane amount of brands, colours and formulas, so you can trust my opinion when I say that Maggie Anne polishes are definitely one of the best vegan formulas currently available. The literally apply like butter! The brush slides smoothly on the nail and the consistency of the polishes is neither runny nor gooey, just perfect! I had perfect control on the application and the polish went exactly where I wanted. I had to do ZERO clean up around my cuticles. Two thumbs up for that!
I applied two coats of colour which was enough to achieve perfect opacity and a super vibrant result. On top of this, I added one coat of the clear topcoat "Shine like a star" by Maggie Anne, which gave extra glossiness to my nails.
The drying time is regular, it dries pretty quickly on the surface (about 2 minutes) but my nails were still "dentable" 20 minutes later. This is completely normal for toxin-free polishes but the wait it is TOTALLY worth it. The finish is very glossy and my nails lasted intact with only minimal tip wear for about 12 days, yes you read that right! 12 whole days! after which I removed the colours only because the growth of the nails showing was pretty large.
I am super happy with these colours, that I also applied to my daughter's nails, who loves wearing nail polish, but I'm always so afraid to be putting nasty chemicals on her little nails. She's super happy with the colour I chose for her because it's called "Emma" like her!
