Happy Friday my dears! Guess who's happy today? Don't mind me...
Any nice plans for the weekend? Why don't you ever tell me?! too shy? no plans :( ?
Any nice plans for the weekend? Why don't you ever tell me?! too shy? no plans :( ?
Today is day 25 of the Crumpet's Nail Tarts 33 Days Challenge and the prompt is "a new technique for you", that is for me, not for YOU. I always find the "pond" technique very cool so I decided to do a slight variation of it with flowers.
The "pond technique" is like a "jelly sandwich in a way, but painting dots in between coats of jelly nail polish, and the final look is supposed to emulate rocks or leaves at the bottom of a pond seen through the water.
For this manicure I used several coats of OPI Guy meets Gal-veston, and in between coats painted some little flowers using China Glaze Snow and a dotting tool. The effect I wanted was the optical illusion that some flowers are "deeper sunk" in the nail polish, whereas others are "floating" on it as if it was a pond. But of course I don't think this could qualify as a proper "pond manicure" because of the colours, lol.
Have you tried this technique? Or any jelly sandwich? What do you think about it?
Don't forget to pay a visit to my co-challengers!
Love,Nati
It is so pretty, takes me right back to summer :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Maria, I think about summer too when I see this mani.
DeleteHey Nati, this is SO girly! It'd be so lovely in spring and summer!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sunny, I think so too :)
Ciao Nati! This was sooooo pretty! I love it! I have actually thought of doing a pond manicure with flowers instead of dots!! :D You beat me to it! ;) Maybe I'll try it anyway ;) Baci! xx
ReplyDeleteGrazie Cara! I'm glad you liked it. And I was not the first one to have this idea, I saw it somewhere else, sometime ago, but I can't remember where :/
DeleteYou need to try it! I'm sure you'll do 100 times better than me :) bacioni, xx
Oh, very pretty, I love floral manicures and I love the final effect! :-)
DeleteOh, I love this! I've only seen it a couple of times on blogs, etc, but I think there should be more of this! I really really like it, lol, but never tried it myself before (I don't think I even have a "true" jelly polish to achieve this look).
ReplyDeleteYours looks so cute.
Thank you sweetie! You're right, it's a very pretty technique, should be more popular! You should try :)
