Hello Sweeties! How was your weekend? Did you spend a nice Valentine's day? Today I bring you athe awesome Zoya Matte Velvet colection. Zoya has re-edit two past matte collections and a matte Velvet topcoat for this growing trend of matte nails.

Here you are the ultra chic Zoya Matte velvet collection, six sultry shades you'll have hard time chosing from!

Zoya Loredana: A medium gunmetal grey, packed with silvery shimmer and a velvety finish. This shade gives the nails the appearance of brushed steel. Application was super easy.

Zoya Savita: bold, vibrant medium purple with strong red and gold shimmer

Zoya Dovima: matte black with silver shimmer.

Zoya Posh: A medium cool-toned wine red with metallic red shimmer .

Zoya Harlow: a medium violet with strong silver shimmer.

Zoya Veruschka: A deep evergreen garnished with strong metallic shimmer

All the swatches show two coats over a basecoat, but obviously without topcoat. The matte formula is one that tends to dry fast, so it does not allow for multiple brush strokes, or they will show. It takes very little to get used to, and once dried the effect is so chic! In this collection I find that Savita, Harlow and Veruschka to have slightly better formulation and consitency than the others, thus they're applied more easily. I found Dovima to be a little too thin in the first coat, and the brush seemed to "slip" on the basecoat leaving a not very even coat. But the second coat covered it all and the surface looked perfectly smooth. If you find it difficult to apply, just skip the base coat, and you'll see how much easier it becomes! In fact Zoya recommends avoiding base coat and of course topcoat. But I almost NEVER skip base coat, it worked fine for me all the same!

Which I particularly appreciate of Zoya polishes lately is the fact the are specially indicated for pregnant women! These beauties, as all zoya products are toxin free formula, are cruelty free and Big5Free certified. That means these nail polishes and the ingredients are never tested on animals, do not have any animal derived ingredients and are also completely free of Formaldehyde, Resin Formaldehyde, Toluene, Dibutyl Phatalate (BBP) and Camphor.

So what do you think of this collection? If you like any of the Zoya polishes, remember Zoya Switzerland has strongly discounted the Fall and Winter collection from 2014, including the  the Matte Velvet collection (CHF 15,50 instead of CHF 21).
