Hello, sweeties! How are you?
I can't begin to tell you how hard was getting back to the regular routine this morning after 4 wonderful long-weekend days spent in Italy. As I write my girl is yelling (instead of napping) because I am actually doing something else than being with her, great... so easy to explain to a two-year-old that mommy would like to write a blog post and why that's "important" right? Well, it is not, of course, or is it?
I came back home from this short vacation with a broken toe. It happened on Saturday morning and I know it's actually broken (even if I haven't been yet able to get myself to the hospital for a check), I know so because my foot is swollen, my toe and the surrounding area is blue slightly turning to black, and I would rather crush my face on the floor than walking -as it is so painful. But I've been trying hard to smile and go on with the vacation as planned. Family life doesn't seem to allow me any moment to take care of my injured foot until tomorrow.
Anyways, I had prepared a makeup look for today long ago and I wanted to share it with you, just because I really need a lift up and blogging about makeup does it for me. This time the challenge is to combine Pastel yellow and lilac for the Monday Shadow Challenge. I hope you like it!

For this look I used / Voici la liste de produits:

Face/ Visage:
- Catrice Liquid Camouflage concealer #020 Light Beige
- Catrice HD Liquid coverage Foundation #010 Light Beige

Eyes/Yeux:
- Urban Decay primer potion
- NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette -Brights- (yellow and lilac shades)
- Sleek Makeup Highlighter "Hemisphere" (inner corners)
- Wet n wild Max Fanatic cat eye mascara

Lips/Lèvres:
- Zoya Lipstick in Cameron

How I did it

A couple of weeks ago I went really bold for a makeup in lime green and violet (check it here) and I thought pastel yellow and lilac should be the softer version of that crazy makeup. Instead, I tried to create a really soft look that could be wearable for daytime.

Here is how I proceeded, I first used two different lilac shades on my crease then I added the palest yellow in this palette (which is not exactly a pastel one) to the mobile eyelid and a shimmery highlighter to the inner corner of my eyes. I accentuated my eyebrows with a darker brown than usual, I used a black pencil all around my lash lines and smudged it a little. I then applied my darkest mascara, and made a newbie mistake! which was setting my face AFTER the mascara, I would normally do it before. That way you can see my mascara had transfered to my upper eyelid, but of course I didn't notice until after have taken the pictures!
On the face, I applied a pale pink blush from essence and I used a nude lippie from Zoya. That was it!

For obvious reasons (i'm trying to get this up as quick as possible) I'm not translating in French today. I'll try to update it with a translation later during the day or this evening, sorry !

I do like thissoft but colorful makeup, what do you think?
Now, I invite you to go check the creations of my challenge mates on the Facebook page of the challenge.

Have a lovely week!
Love,
Nati
