Hello, my lovelies!
This year too I'm continuing with my Challenge of using my makeup more and stop collecting it. Yes, I have changed my perspective towards makeup from "collecting it" to "using it". I have enjoyed a lot creating my collection, buying pieces that I carefully chose and I'm happy with the nice stash I've amassed. But now, I enjoy a lot more USING it! Yes, I've discovered that I enjoy much more using the makeup than just possessing it, therefore, I started this personal challenge called "Shopping my stash".

This month I've been playing with Chanel Quadra Eyeshadow #43 Mystère, which I haven't reached for in a while, but I must say this palette is quite appropriate for Winter, and I thought it would be perfect for my January's challenge. Check out one of the looks I've created with it, I hope you like it :)

Last Spring I cleaned up a bit my makeup collection and ditched lots of stuff that smelled weird, were filthy or broken. I came to the realisation the I had a lot of items (especially high-end stuff) barely used, or NEVER used, still in their original packaging!! Especially the high-end eyeshadow quads and quints: Here take a look!
I know... Those items were needing LOVE a.s.a.p.

I decided to start this new series of posts here on the blog that would allow me to commit to "Shopping my stash", which means going through products I own instead of buying new ones. I have decided that each month I would pick an eyeshadow quad or quint from my collection and use it during the whole month. The month of January I've been playing with Chanel Quadra Eyeshadow Mystère and today I share with you one of the looks I came up with.

Chanel Quadra Eyeshadow #43 Mystère

Chanel Quadra Eyeshadow Mystère was launched for Fall 2013 and it was a Limited Edition (LE). I am not a fan of presenting you LE products when they are no longer available, but this post is a special case, as I'm trying to use my collection more and NOT trying to encourage you to buy anything, more trying to INSPIRE you to use more what you already have and buy less!

This palette was featured in a blog post where I also show you my first look created with it here, when it was still available, but I didn't write a proper review. This quad was not highly rated in reviews, but I really like it and find it very wearable for me. I think the problem is that this quad is not very versatile, as three of the shades are quite dark and similar, so all the looks you can do with this will be very similar and all a little smokey. As you know, if you've been following me for a while, that I prefer colourful or warm looks. However, I think it is nice to create a grey-ish smokey look now and then as it is a very classic look, and I am happy to have this palette for those occasions.

Honestly, I haven't done many looks with this palette, as you know I've been sick for most of January and I wore very little or no makeup at all. I wasn't in the mood for smokey looks, and I focused more on having a consistent skincare routine during this month than on creating sophisticated makeup looks. You know, life happens! Nevertheless, I think it is very useful to have some kind of option to create smokey looks which are super sexy and quite a makeup classic!

What about you? Do you have any palette or single shades that allow you to create a classic smokey look? Is there any piece of makeup in your beauty case that is not getting enough love? Let me know in the comments!

Love,
Nati
