Hello everyone! I'm very excited today about joining my very first Nail polish challenge! I want to thank the lovely host of this challenge from the blog Beautiful living for letting me in with a little delay. Below is the theme list, there is no schedule really, so that's the main reason I've joined it! lol
Herradicate H8! November 8th
Nov 8, 2012
Bullying is not funny. It is not cool. It is not right. And more importantly, it is not okay.
Most of us are, thankfully, residents of countries that support tolerance and many of our families have settled in these places simply for that reason. Generations later, it is our responsibility to perpetuate that message of tolerance across our new social platforms, including the internet.
As members of the nail polish blogging community, we all share a love of beauty, color, and lacquer. Other than that, we are remarkably different: from our race to our religion to our hair color...even to our polish application techniques. To marginalize anyone because of those differences is completely unacceptable and today I take a stand against that. I refuse to allow other people's view of "normal" dictate how I behave, believe, and blog.
In solidarity with a multitude of bloggers linked below, my purple manicure represents my proud commitment to the No H8 movement. Today, November 8, I dedicate my post to ending bullying of any kind and to encouraging diversity and imperfection among our colorful community.
I want to add my support to this cause, I've never been a victim of bullying myself but have always battled against it. I hate bullying because it is the most cruel way to atack others. I've always stand and will always stand between bully and their victims. My mother always recall how at the age of two I would stand for my (older) brother to defend him. It is the most cruel way to attack the weaker, because the adults would laugh, and think "they're just children", that makes it an unpunished way to hurt others, I'm saying unpunished! But I've seen adults and children rewarding for their bullying, and I've even seen adults encouraging their children to be bullies. Disgusting. What we do, express our opposition to this awful practice, is nice, but not enough. We shall denounce this practice, and more importantly we must teach our children all we state here today, and teach them by the word and the example, to be open to diversity, and that attacking others is just not right!
NOTD: Catrice Ultimate lacquer Brushed metal effect: 900 Steel My
Catrice has a bunch of new shades in its main nail polish line, and today I want to share with you one of the new Brushed Metal Effect finish in 900 Steel My Heart.
This is an unusual matte finish, I don't own many mattes, so I don't have anything like this in my stash. It has shimmer, so is not chalky looking, but is not either as the other suede polishes I own. I guess Brushed metal really suits the finish.
Steel My Heart is a hard shade to describe. The base is redder than the current steel grey, in some lightings it looks almost brownish grey. So I'll set for: cool brown-ish grey with tones of silver, turquoise and coppery red shimmer.
The application was perfect! Smooth, opaque in two thin coats. I very rarely have issues with this brand, and I like the wide brush too.
I think the shade is pretty unique and it gives a quite edgy look. This colour rings a bell in my head, but I can't remember what it was or where I've seen it. So if you recall which is a possible dupe, please leave a note in my comments. I can say for sure that whatever was that colour there is no way to beat this because it costs less than 4 USD per bottle. So, in my opinion, if you collection nail polish and like unusual shades, don't walk, RUN. This is a must have.
Let me know your thoughts about it!
Love,
Nati

Essence The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn - Lipgloss, Lipstick & Shimmer Powder
Nov 7, 2012
Hello dears, how are you doing today? Happy or sad with the latest news?
I want to apologize to my dear friends and readers, because I haven't answered to their nice comments, and haven't been reading a lot of blogs either. It's been two days I'm feeling unwell, I must have caught the flew or something and now is my baby who has it and he has a temperature too. So I'll post what I've scheduled in the past and will catch up with all my reading list when we're all feeling a little better!
Well, I still have these Essence goodies from The twilight Saga Breaking Dawn collection that I haven't showed you. This LE will be available until the end of November, so if you're lucky you might still find them.
Back in October I showed you all of my picks here. Today I have for you the Shimmer Powder, the two lipglosses and the lipstick.
Into the pictures and review:
All Time Favourite: Zoya Stacy
Nov 6, 2012
I imagine half of the world is expectant to know what the results will be at the elections for President of the United States of America, and so am I. Yes, I'm interested in politics, as a matter of fact I've got a BA in Political Science. but I'm not going to mix Polishes and Politics! ;)
I'm giving my nails a rest today and decided to bring you an "oldie but goodie", my beloved plum creme Zoya Stacy. I was reading a post by kittytokaren from Polish or Perish blog about Essie Bahama mama, that made me remember the goodness of this shade
I haven't got the opportunity to wear it this Fall (yet) so the picture is from my files. I think is such a suitable shade for Fall!
Do you love plum polishes? Which are your favourites?
Love,
Nati

Nail Look for Holidays "Glamour-daze-beauty" like
Nov 5, 2012
Hello everyone! How was your weekend? Hope you had fun!
Ever since the beauty blogger Kelly from the VampyVarnish posted the MAC Glamour Daze for Holiday 2012 Official Info & Photos, I've been wanting to reproduce the nail look the model was wearing. I supposed that it was made using MAC All that glitters and In the limelight. It wasn't in my plans (or budget) to buy those polishes, instead, I've picked Essence 02 Alice had a vision, from the Twilight saga part 2, and Mavala 181 Blue Mint from the Spring-Summer 2012 Delicious collection.

The Body Shop Holidays LE Hand cream trio
Nov 4, 2012
Hello everyone! How is your weekend going so far? Have you had a nice Saturday? I'm here trying to figured out how the heck I ended up buying these after I said to myself over a hundred times "they're too expensive". Well the fact is I had not less than 2 The Body Shop boutiques in my town, and One of them is place at the very entry of the supermarket where I pick daily my groceries, diaries, etc. And this is too much of a temptation. So I could bare it around 2 weeks, since this limited edition came out, and this is really very long for me. So I enter the shop, and thought, I'll just check out the scents of the hand creams. Then spotted this cute little box with all three LE for Holiday creams, and that was the beginning of the end, LOL!! I was told I could have 20% off when spending a minimum amount, so I picked up also the vanilla lipbalm, which was eventually for free once the discount was applied.

I don't even know where to start to describe the scents. They are awesome, but not so strong that they would become bothering at some point. The Vanilla is just delicious!
Have you picked anything from The Body Shop holiday collection?
Loads of love, and enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Catrice LE Big City Life Nail Polishes Swatches & Review
Nov 3, 2012
Hello my dears! How are you doing today? I hope you are enjoying your Saturday!
What I have for you today have been out for a while now. It's Catrice Make up Limited Edition for Fall 2012 "Big City Life", and it will be available in November as well. My lovely husband gave me the palettes and polishes as a gift for the Mother's Day back in October, and I haven't had the opportunity to play with them yet! So today I'm going to show you some nail polishes swatches, and leave the palettes for next week, because I've got too many pictures for one post, so stay tuned!

Essence Pigments swatches: the Twilight saga Breaking Dawn Part 2
Nov 2, 2012
Here I am again! I wanted to swatch the pigments I bought from The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Essence Collection. I had very few pigments, and do not use them a lot, because I'm not a make up artist or technician, so I usually end up messing the whole thing up! But I thought these were cute and not expensive, and I really should start using pigments more often, that's why I ended up buying the 4 shades of the collection.
To the swatches.
From top to bottom:
02- Alice Had a vision - Again: Dark plum almost black base withPurple and blue glitter.
03- A piece of Forever: What? It is supposedly light gold pigment
04- Edward's Love: Dark gray base with multicolour glitter.
01- Jacobs protection: Black base with multicolour glitter.
All swatches are on bare skin, no primer, no mosturizer, nada.
Here is a close up picture: I'm not pigment expert, but you can see for yourselves these are not great quality. The only worth the 4 CHF I payed each is Jacobs Protection. It applied perfectly with one sweep, without fallout which is a big plus for me. Alice had a vision again is pretty and would probably work well with a primer or base, without it it is a little patchy but there's not terrible fall out or anything.
I regret buying the other two (Edward's Love, and A piece of forever). I don't see how in the world these could be buildable! They're gritty, and A piece of forever evokes more the "Invisible Man" than a Vampire. I'm still trying to figure out what would I do with these...
Pigments are a quite recent add on to the Essence core makeup line (please correct me if I'm wrong!) and to be honest I've never tried those. So this review is not intended to be generalized to all the pigments Essence does.
What do you think? Have you picked any of these pigments yet?
Love,
Nati

NOTD: OPI The Spy Who Loved Me & Skyfall Première
Nov 1, 2012
Hi everyone! How was your Halloween yesterday? Have you party and rock?
No much party here... but I'm used to.
So, today, November 1st, is the Première of James Bond film Skyfall in Switzerland, to which we were invited by our banker, and have free tickets, drinks and food included! So, so excited to go this evening with my darling!
It was for sure I HAD to wear one of OPI Skyfall Colleciton, but I've hesitated a little between The Spy who Loved Me and Golden Eye... I simply let my instinct go and picked the RED one, and without any regrets because this is a fantastic red! The moment I put it on the nails, I knew I had done the good choice! It's so shiny and classy, I find it perfect for the occasion, and I'm thinking about buying the full size one, because this is such a stunning red, I think I'll find many many occasions to wear it!
What are your thoughts on it? Have I done the right choice in your opinion?
Love,
Nati
