Shopping my stash │'Buy nothing' Sophisticated Look in grey and mauve

Sophisticated grey and mauve makeup look

Hello, sweeties! I hope you all spent a lovely Valentine's day yesterday!

I took the day off from blogging and social media yesterday, I spent the whole day with my 5 year-old son and we did some fun stuff together. We also went to the cinema, as my boy really enjoys it. We didn't do any Valentine's related celebrations (except heartshaped raspberry and chocolate mousse that we had for desert, lol). Did you celebrate this Date?

Well, let's get into makeup. As every month, today I have a new edition of "shopping my stash" challenge. This month I've been playing with Dior 5 couleurs Cosmopolite #866 Eclectic quint, which I have used several times for my other challenges, but then forgot about it. Today I'm showing you the looks I've created with it, I hope you like it :)

Last Spring I cleaned up a bit my makeup collection and ditched lots of stuff that smelled weird, were filthy or broken. I came to the realisation the I had a lot of items (especially high-end stuff) barely used, or NEVER used, still in their original packaging!! Especially the high-end eyeshadow quads and quints: Here take a look!

I know... Those items were needing LOVE a.s.a.p.

I decided to start this new series of posts here on the blog that would allow me to commit to "Shopping my stash", which means going through products I own instead of buying new ones. I have decided that each month I would pick an eyeshadow quad or quint from my collection and use it during the whole month. The month of January I've been playing with Dior 5 Couleurs Eclectic quint and today I share with you one of the looks I came up with.

Dior 5 Couleurs #866 Eclectic was launched for Fall 2015 and it was a Limited Edition (LE), but it is still available in a few online retailers. I am not trying to encourage you to buy anything, more trying to INSPIRE you to use more what you already have and buy less

This palette was featured in a blog post where I also show you my first look created with it here, when it launched. This quint was not highly rated in reviews, but I really like it and find it very wearable for me, a bit more sophisticated than I would usually reach for. I think the problem is that whenever I try to create a look with several of its shades, it ends up being super-classy! It's the colours and the finish, so satin like, it is very luxurious! But this palette can also suit more modest everyday looks by using only one or two colours at the time. I have been using the dusty pink in it a LOT this month for my everyday looks and it's very soft and pretty!
As February is the "Loves" month, I thought a little more "sophisticated" looks wouldn't hurt, so I decide this palette would be my perfect companion for my monthly challenge.

I have used this palette every day of February and I will continue to use it! I didn't need a lot of product to create my looks, a sit is quite pigmented. This is one of the looks I received most compliments so far this month, although it is quite bold!

If you wear to use ONE piece of makeup every day in a row for a month, what would you choose for February? and Why? I'm curious to know your answer!!

Love,
Nati
