Hello my dears! How are you doing today? I have for you the another manicure I've created for the Tri-polish challenge. As you know this month I'll have to stick to three colours, grey, blue and red, and they were already presented here.
While thinking what good could came from grey, blue and red, baring in mind I could also have free use of white, black and toppers, I remembered how I always found quite awesome the flag manicures, specially the Union jack, because I think it's kind of iconic in the world of fashion. I thought it would also be a nice opportunity to practice my striping tape skills, and decided to give it a go!
For this mani I used Only two out of three mandatory shades (which is allowed) Mavala Trinidad, H&M super red and NYX Ink White, and of course many bits of striping tape. I started with 2 coats of the Mavala Trinidad, and then placed the tape bits in order to paint the two white crosses, and let me tell you, that was hard and time consuming. So when the white colour dried and it was time to paint the red crosses, well, I just dropped the striping tape and went on free hand, lol! It's not the sharpest execution you'll find, but it was not that bad considering it was my first try. I'm quite happy with the final result.
Well, let's call it a "Tribute to the UK" where I met the love of my life.
Let me know your thoughts, and if you tried this kind of mani or similar? Did you use striping tape?
Don't forget to check on the other lovely ladies and their creations for today!!
Love,
Nati
You did a great job with the flag Union Jack, it looks great. A beautiful manicure. :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you Ann-Sofie! :D
Deletethats so neat! my union jacks look like a 2 year old tried, even when I used striping tape. I think yours looks fab!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the sweet comment!
DeleteYou did a fantastic job sweetie :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful manicure :)
Mavala Trinidad is so pretty... I might have to pick it up :)
hugs
xx
hi shortylegs, I appreciate your comment! I think is a very pretty blue and very nice formula. If you don't own something similar is definitively a must-have. xx
DeleteMuy bien la bandera de Canada
ReplyDeleteGracias Andrea.
DeleteTaping skills, Natalia! It looks great you certainly did the English flag proud and the added reason for doing the flag is just so sweet. I'm still yet to do my home country flag! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Ithi, I'm so glad you like it! we never came back to England since then, now it's been 16 years!! so I think it's time to do so, maybe bringing the little one with us. xx
DeleteWell done! Now do the Belgian flag next? ;-) ;-)
ReplyDeleteOhh Melissa! haha, no! no no, I have to do my own home country first, then Italy, then Switzerland... then maybe Belgium haha
DeleteBeautiful "Tribute to the UK", but it would be nice also to make one little "Tribute to Italy" :-) I love your manicure! :-) I feel a little bit "clumsy" with striping tape, so I usually do everything free-hand! :-)
ReplyDeleteOf course Tatjana! I make tribute to italy every day! but unfortunately for this challenge I could not use green :(
DeleteYou're so gifted, that's a special talent you got!
Hahaha what an awesome idea!! Great mani!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jin Jit!
DeleteCiao Nati! This looks great! U did a great job! AND on free hand too! :D It was a good move to skip the striping tape for a flag like the Union Jack. That must have been sooo time consuming! I joined a Union Jack Nail Art Sunday a few weeks ago but I took the easy way out and cut a heart out of a nail wrap ;) Stammi bene cara! Baci! xx
ReplyDeleteCiao Jezz! thank you sweetie, I don't think I saw the mani you mentioned... I'm so late with my reading :(
DeleteNo worries! You can always search for it on my blog if you feel like seeing it :) Baci! xx
DeleteLove it! I too have a union Jack lined up for next week ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Joanne! it's fun and easy nail design!
