Happy Friday sweeties! Any nice plans for the weekend?
I'm very excited because this evening I'm heading to Lausanne for a cool summer party at Cosmetics Obsessions boutique and I will have the chance to meet many new people, and some of the bloggers I only know through blogging. It is also the first time I go out by myself (without my children) since my little one was born (over one year ago) so it is a bit of a test too ;)

But first, let's take a look at the manicure I have for you today! It's time for the 36th appointment of the 40 Great nail art ideas challenge, and today's prompt is "coral + white", so perfect for summer!

Today's colour prompt ought to be combined with my personal technique prompt, which is "Patch work". This is the first time I do patchwork nail art, but I think it is more a "theme" than a proper technique. In fact, the patch work can be achieved with many different techniques, I chose to combine striping tape, dotting and free hand techniques to achieve this look.

A patchwork nail art there is always the risk to lose the "harmony" of the manicure because it is easy to go too far and make it look too busy. I wanted to keep things looking simple. So I only used two colours. I started painting all my nails with OPI She's a bad Muffuletta, then waited for it to dry. Next, using some striping tape I delimited one square shape on each nail and filled it in with white polish, I used Essence White Wild ways because it is very opaque in one coat. I finished off the look adding some dots and handpainted the "stitches" with a black nail art liner from LA Colors.

It is a very fun manicure! I find this particular design works great with short nails too. I quite like the final result, although I must admit it is not the most wearable manicure out there. What do you think? Would you wear this kind of nail art?

Do not forget to pay a visit to my challenge mates to see what great nail designs they've done in coral and white.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Love,
Nati
