Nail Polish │ Peru Collection by OPI for Fall-Winter 2018 [Swatches and Review]

Hello, my lovelies! How are you doing today?
I am super excited because I have the Perú Collection by OPI* for Fall-Winter 2018 swatches to share with you!! This gorgeous collection inspired by the colours of the amazing Peruvian landscapes launches TODAY! Keep reading to find out what each colour looks like on the nails and what was my experience applying and wearing these twelve new nail polishes. ♥♥♥

The Perú Collection by OPI consists of twelve colour of nail polish, all creme shades with an exceptionally glossy finish. The colours of the Perú collection are inspired in the surrealistic and beautiful landscapes of the country: "The collection includes 12 new shades in Nail Lacquer, Infinite Shine and GelColor formulas, with colors reflecting earthy, sandy landscapes with dusty mauve undertones (Machu Peach-u, Somewhere Over the Rainbow Mountains, Suzi Will Quechua Later!, Seven Wonders of OPI) and beautifully crafted textiles with vibrant statement hues (Lima Tell You About This Color!, Alpaca My Bags, Don’t Toot My Flute, Grandma Kissed a Gaucho). Seductive deep reds and burgundies (My Solar Clock is Ticking, I Love You Just Be-Cusco, Como se Llama?, Yes My Condor Can-do!) inspired by red sand beaches, colorful historic buildings and the Peruvian flag round out the collection."

This particular collection by OPI can be divided into two groups: Cool toned hues and warm toned ones. The latter will suit more cool tone skin and the warmer will be more suitable for warmer skintones. This is just to have an idea, in fact, I have a quite neutral skin tone, leaning slightly warmer, and I love the cooler colours as well!

The twelve shades of this collection are available in three formulas: Regular OPI Nail Polish (with black cap), the longlasting Infinite Shine Formula (with Silver cap), and the GelColor formula. I have swatched the twelve colours in the Infinite Shine formulation. Read about the application experience and quality of the formulation in general further below.

Let's start with the swatches, shall we?  I'm showing you all the swatches with two coats of colour  and without topcoat. Please, remember you can click on the pics to enlarge them:) I will start with the six "cool Toned colours" that include pink, lilac, purple, lavender and dusty blueish green.

Lima Tell You About This Color! Spread the word about this exciting new pink!

What a wonderful shade of pink! It seems unusual for the Fall season, but it's not really so: Did you know October is the month for Breast Cancer Awareness and that Pink is the colour of the campaign? For me, pink has become a symbol of October because of this reason, hence a symbol of Fall and I'm very happy OPI included one pink in this collection!

Suzi Will Quechua Later! Suzi’s nails look fab as she rides off into the rose-tinted sunset

This colour is hard to describe, it is a cool toned pink with a hint of blue. In the bottle the hue looks much more muted than on the nails! In general the whole collection has a "muted" or dusty vibe to it when you look at the bottles, but once applied on the nails the colours look much more vibrant!
This shade of pink never fails to remind me my beautiful Orchids, that's why I LOVE it!

Seven Wonders of OPI More than 7 but who’s counting with this mauve-alous new shade.

This is the most delicate shade of pale mauve I've ever seen! So pretty and feminine! In the bottle it looks super muted, almost with a grey hint, but on the nails it looks lovely! So you know what the say... don't Judge a polish by its bottle ;)

Alpaca My Bags Pack lightly, this green lacquer is all you need.

This colour looks like a muted blue in the bottle. No, wait, it looks grey-ish green/blue... or is it green-ish grey-blue? Whatever!! My picture shows it much brighter than in real life, that is because of the intense sunlight we were having when I took this picture. So Imagine a more muted version of this green! It is very chic and a bit Edgy!

Don’t Toot My Flute Follow the piper to abundant fields of lilac.

The beautiful lilac of the collection! It is a very cool toned lilac. I would call it more "Wisteria" rather than lilac, as it really reminds me of the colour of wisteria flowers.

Grandma Kissed a Gaucho  If Grandma can do it, so can you! This flirty purple charms ‘em all.

This lovely medium purple is what we know as a "jelly" nail polish. It means the colour is very translucent ("sheer") and you need several coats for the solid colour to reveal. I did two medium coats (not too thin not too thick) and the colour was completely opaque. In fact you don't see my natural nail at all. However the "jelly" formula gives it that awesome glossiness and "squishy" quality!!

Now, let's see the six "warm toned colours" which include peach, rose, red, burgundy and aubergine!

Machu Peach-u Create a soft peach vibe inspired by this mystic ancient city.

The bottle of this polish is totally deeiving! Well, the name gives you a hint: it is a very light shade of peach. However, in the bottle, I see a nude rose-pink, which is quite muted and a lot more vibrant on the nails. If you look at my pictures closely you can see the difference!

Somewhere Over the Rainbow Mountains This rosy hue will take you to new heights.

THIS colour! This is a nude rose so CHIC! I love it and from all the light shades this is my favourite. Super glossy and appropriate for the office too.

My Solar Clock is Ticking Tick Tock, this color rocks!

This must be the only colour that stays true to the bottle. I mean that it looks practically identical on the nails as it looks on the bottle. Do not ask me to describe it! It is an Earth-y coral red? Arrgh such a difficult hue to pin down but sooo original and beautiful! One of my absolute favourites in this collection.

I Love You Just Be-Cusco Can I woo you to Peru? Don’t let this romantic red “get away.”

This redis fantastic! Is not your usual go to red, but it has some "brick" hue, without making it too orange. I love it and I don't have anything like it in my whole collection! SO GLOSSY!!!!

Como se Llama? Me llama es OPI! Cover your nails with this boastful burgundy.

A beautiful shade of burgundy red that screams "Fall!" fro the top of the roofs! I LOVE this colour and I am sure it will be my go to colour the upcoming Season!

Yes My Condor Can-Do! A purple as wild as the bird itself. Spread your wings and fly!

Last but not least, this vampy and terribly sexy aubergine hue. OPI calls it "Purple", but I would say it is more wine red/brown than purple. It looks a little lighter in my pictures, as in real life the colour is a tad darker. So Elegant!

The polishes were a dream to apply as usual, they all were smooth, fully opaque in two coats, ultra-glossy without topcoat. I had no difficulties at all, there is a great consistancy in the formulation, as all the colours application is very similar. I think the darker colours were even easier to apply as they were a little bit more fluid, but the difference would be noticeable only to a pro or to a crazy lady that applies twelve difirent manicures in one afternoon ;)

All in all, this is a fantastic collection! The lovers of pink, rose and purple will be delighted with it! I personally prefer the "warm" toned colours more, as they evoke more the Fall season to me. But I do like having cooler shades to spice up the things during the dullness of winter. What about you? What is your favourite here??

The Preu Collection by OPI is already available in classic Nail Lacquer, Infinite Shine and GelColor formulas for 6 months at least.
