Hello, lovelies! How are you today?

This year is happening fast-fowards! It seems incredible January is almost over and it is time for me to share with you one more edition of my "shopping my stash" challenge! This monthly challenge that I started back in 2017 still goes strong, especially since this year "low buy", "no buy" and "shop your stash" are incredibly popular trends in social media. I've been using an old quad by Dolce & Gabbana "Fall Harvest", which has a wonderful packaging but the shadows leave me a bit on the fence. Keep reading to find out more about it and to see the look I came up with.

I decided to write a series of posts that would allow me to commit to "Shopping my stash", which means going through products I own instead of buying new ones. I have decided that each month I would pick an eyeshadow quad or quint from my collection and use it during the whole month. The month of January 2019 I've been playing with my old quad "Fall Harvest" and today I share with you one of the looks I came up with.

Dolce & Gabbana "Fall Harvest"

The Dolce & Gabbana "Fall Harvest" palette launched as a limited edition for Fall 2015, as part of their #dglovesfall collection. It is one of the few makeup items I own from the brand D&G. My hubby got it for me as a gift from one of his trips to NYC that year. I have featured this palette in two of my articles here and here

Despite the fact that the colours look very vibrant and pigmented in the pan, they don't transfer to the skin the same way. In fact, his palette is quite soft looking on the eyelids, which makes it quite wearable for everyday looks, also very difficult to create more dramatic looks.

I recently got the "Passioneyes" Mascara by D&G which is an absolute hit! and the mini-size of their Matte lipstick "Dolce flirt" #621 which is basically a dream come true!

The palette has three colours with different undertones, which makes it very difficult to combine them all in one look, but at the same time, the colours are not pigmented enough to be used on their own as single washes of colour. Also, the shadows are a bit powdery and difficult to blend! I decided that no matter how I love the fact my husband gifted me this palette, I am not longer keeping it in my collection and I will get rid of it! So the veredict is: DESTASH!!

As usual, I am not trying to encourage you to buy anything with this post, more trying to INSPIRE you to use more what you already have, buy less and even getting rid of some of your possesions!

I have used this quad a few times this month, but definitely, it wasn't easy or adapted to my needs. No wonder I haven't used it much since I got it three years ago. So I've decided I am not going to keep it in my collection. If you are interested in this second-hand piece, please contact me!

Do you have any item in your makeup stash that you've forgot about and eventually decided to get rid of?

Don't hesitate to leave me a comment!

Love,
Nati
