Hello, lovelies! Happy Monday!
How was your first week of the year 2019? While most people are already working on their resolutions, new lifestyles, diets and working out programs... I'm still on vacation! Oops!⠀
I really needed this family overload time (that in my country comes also together with a food overload, lol!) in the past two weeks we have had dinner parties, pizza parties, BBQ parties, poolside parties and all kind of parties which involved much chatting, laughs, hugs, children running and shouting, and much eating, hahaha, it's always about the food, right?⠀
December went too fast for me to be able to share with you the last edition of my "shopping my stash" challenge in 2018. So technically this post still belongs to last year's challenge. I've been using my old and beautiful Dior "Golden shock #756", a quint with very chic mauve and plums and a touch of gold.
I decided to write a series of posts here on the blog that would allow me to commit to "Shopping my stash", which means going through products I own instead of buying new ones. I have decided that each month I would pick an eyeshadow quad or quint from my collection and use it during the whole month. The month of December I've been playing with my old quint "Golden Shock" and today I share with you one of the looks I came up with.
Dior Quint #756 "Golden Shock"
The Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow "Golden Shock" launched as a limited edition for Christmas 2014. I got it some time later on a sale for a fraction of its original price, and haven't used it a lot to be honest. I think until now I had used it only two times.
Despite the fact that the centre colour is a glittery gold, this palette is very easy to use for everyday looks as the three satin colours are quite flattering on their own, with muted mauves a plum and a shimmery pale pink.
As usual, I am not trying to encourage you to buy anything with this post, more trying to INSPIRE you to use more what you already have and buy less!

The actual looks you can create with this kind of palette are all quite soft and chic, but mixing all the colours together you get some beautiful duochrome effects like the one I made on the look I show you today. This is possible because all the colours in the palette have a little translucency.

During December, I have used this Quint almost every day. It is very easy to use daily as the single colours are soft and wearable and not overly pigmented. It is definitely one item I want to keep in my collection and I regret not using it a lot until now.
Do you have any item in your makeup stash that you've recently re-discover or that you've forgot about for a while?
