Happy Monday, sweeties! How are you today?

I hope you all had a nice weekend! We were enjoying the nice weather outdoors, but I have to take it easy, because my allergies are such a pain, lol. Watery red eyes, itching throat and palate, running nose, constant sneezing, and now the headache! Are you allergic to pollen? how do you manage it? do you take medication?

Now let's get into makeup! This week the Monday Shadow Challenge proposed us to used "marsala and yellow" colours. Marsala is a kind of brownish wine red that was Pantone colour of the year a few years back, and when you think of wine red, the last thing that comes to mind to pair it with is yellow! This was really a challenge for me. Please, keep reading to find out what I came up with!

For this look I used / Voici la liste de produits:

I was a little lost when trying to imagine how to combine Marsala and yellow. I finally decided to create a chic makeup look with a smokey eye using a Marsala colour and then introduce the yellow in the inner corner as a totally unexpected touch of edginess.
For this look, I used my beloved "Subculture" palette by Anastasia Beverly Hills and a single wine eyeshadow by Kiko Milano.

Recreating this look Step by Step:
On my crease, I used the shade "Dawn" (light peach) and "Mercury" (soft taupe) creating a warm shade to re-define my eye-shape. I then started to apply the wine red in a v shape towards the outer corners mixing "All star" (dusty burgundy) and "Rowdy" (dark brown with a hint of red). Then in the centre of my eyelid, I used the marsala shade from Kiko which has a beautiful satin finish.
Finally, I applied the shade "Edge" (mustard yellow) in the inner corner, extending it in a V shape. I then I applied gold eyeliner and mascara.

On the face, I used a bronzer from Givenchy and a gorgeous blusher from H&M in apricot. On the lips, I used a creamy nude lipstick by H&M.

Joyeux lundi, mes belles! Comment vas-tu aujourd'hui?

I must say I wasn't very convinced about this look, but I have grown to like it. The yellow in the centre pops in a very origianl ways and gives a touch of edginess to a look that otherwise would be very traditional.
Now, I invite you to go check the creations of my challenge mates on the Facebook page of the challenge.

Love,
Nati
