Hello, lovelies!
It's been raining, the temperatures have decreased and I can smell Fall in the Air!! Who else out there has a preference for the autumnal season? Well, I know, most people prefer Summer or Spring, I can see why, but for me, there is nothing like Fall. It is more than just the warm golds, oranges and browns of the landscape, it is full of meaning to me. Nature starts to prepare for what will come (rougher times). In fact, when you stop to think about it, Fall reminds us that there is no change without a period of transition and preparation. Nothing happens so abruptly that there are no signs prior to it, we are just maybe not paying attention to those signs, but change is never a surprise. Well, of course, sometimes it is to us, but only when we were incapable of perceiving the signs! Watching around us seems like an obvious thing to do, but we are all so preoccupied with our everyday tasks that sometimes the simplest things are imperceptible to us.
Are you stopping and paying attention to the signs of change in your life?
When Fall approaches and as I get ready to enjoy the colourful show that nature throws for us, I like to change to incorporate more "Fall" like colours into my life, maybe in my home decoration, my wardrobe and of course my makeup! Do you do the same? It is fun! But it is even more fun to do so without breaking the bank and using what you already have at home.
Today I'd like to share with you a new edition of my "shopping my stash" challenge with colours that remind me of Fall but that are also vivid and suitable for Summer, as a transition between these two. This month I've been playing with Dior 5 Couleurs #634 Golden Flower, which I think is perfect for this period of change :)
I decided to write a series of posts here on the blog that would allow me to commit to "Shopping my stash", which means going through products I own instead of buying new ones. I have decided that each month I would pick an eyeshadow quad or quint from my collection and use it during the whole month. The month of August I've been playing with Dior 5 Couleurs #634 Golden Flower and today I share with you one of the looks I came up with.
Dior 5 Couleurs #634 Golden Flower
Dior 5 Couleurs #634 Golden Flower was part of The "Golden Winter" Limited Edition collection launched in 2013! This quint is 5 years old, and although I used it quite a few times it looks still pretty much new. I have already featured this quint on my blog here.
The palette I've chosen to use in August has a light glittery yellow gold in the center, a medium/dark satin Brown with a hint of plum, a shimmer/satin bronze brown, a light peach pink with satin finish and a shimmery light vanilla colour. I think these shadows are great for any season, because they are quite neutral and adding different notes to your makeup you can completely transform your look.
For hot summer days, I used these colour paired with a bright orange lipstick and golden bronzer on the cheeks, focusing on the bronze and gold colours of the palette. This is the look I created for today.
For more autumnal looks, I would focus on the darker shade of the palette and the peach colour, to create a more smokey look and pair it with a deep wine lipstick and a less vibrant blush. So a palette li this is ideal for seasons transitions in my book!
As usual, I am not trying to encourage you to buy anything with this post, more trying to INSPIRE you to use more what you already have and buy less!

This palette is quite versatile, and it can suit many skin colours so I think it could inspire you to build your own palette too or search similar colour among the makeup you already have at home.

I have used this palette during August and it's been a great everyday option, as most colours work very well on their own (the only exception would be the gold one that I wouldn't use on its own) for creating simple daytime looks!
Do you change your makeup with the seasons? Is there a makeup palette that is your go to?
